Celebrities Announced for Charity Pro-Am


Celebrity participants and professional exemptions for this year's BMW Charity Pro-Am golf tournament at The Cliffs were announced Tuesday.
Actor Kevin Costner and his wife, Christine, will be joined by fellow actors and entertainers Catherine Bell, Kurt Russell, Kevin Sorbo, Cheech Marin and John O'Hurley and his wife, Lisa Mesloh. The celebrity lists also includes South Carolina head football coach Steve Spurrier and his predecessor Lou Holtz; current NFL players Brian Griese and Chris Chandler; and retired football players George Rogers and Steve Bartowski. Former Vice President Dan Quayle also is scheduled to play as is golfing great Gary Player.
Professional golfers Tim Conley, Jay Delsing, Ben Duncan, John Engler, P.H. Horgan, Tom Kalinowski, David Mobley, Payton Osborn, Bob Sowards and Stan Utley have been awarded exemptions to play in the tournament.
The BMW Charity Pro-Am will be played April 28-May 1. It is the only Nationwide Tour event where amateurs and celebrities are grouped with professionals in a three-day better-ball competition.
