Cheyenne Woods takes medallist honors at Women's Public Links


BANDON, Ore. – Cheyenne Woods shot a 2-under 69 on Tuesday to finish first in stroke-play qualifying at the Women’s U.S. Amateur Public Links Championship at Bandon Dunes.

Woods, Tiger Woods’ niece who won the Atlantic Coast Conference individual championship as a junior for Wake Forest last month, finished 36 holes at 1 under. She was the only player in the field of 155 to break par and will be the top seed in the match play portion of the event.

Emile Burger finished second at 3 over 145 after shooting a 69. First-round leader Kelsey Vines followed up her 71 with a 78 to finish 7 over to tie for eighth.
