Clarke Wins Taiheiyo Masters in Japan


GOTEMBA, Japan -- Northern Ireland's Darren Clarke won the Taiheiyo Masters on Sunday, closing with 4-under 68 for a six-stroke victory.
The European Ryder Cup star had a tournament-record 22-under 266 total on the Taiheiyo Club course for his second career victory in Japan. He also won the 2001 Chunichi Crowns.
England's Lee Westwood, the tournament winner in 1996, 1997 and 1998, also closed with a 68 to tie for second with Japan's Nozomi Kawahara (70).
