Cook Fatherhood Wont Mellow Tiger

CONCORD, Mass. -- John Cook doesn't expect fatherhood to mellow Tiger Woods.
'I saw how disappointed he was' after finishing second at the U.S. Open, Cook said Monday in a conference call to discuss his October debut on the Champions Tour. 'You know what happens when he gets very motivated. It's a sorry session for the rest of us.'
Woods finished one stroke behind Angel Cabrera of Argentina at Oakmont to finish second in a major for the second time this year. His wife gave birth to daughter Sam Alexis Woods one day later.
Cook said he's spoken to Woods a couple of times since the birth and the new father is 'incredibly excited.'
'You can see the smile on his face,' Cook said. 'It's a new chapter in an incredible story.'
Woods withdrew from this weekend's Buick Championship, but is hosting a tournament outside of Washington, D.C., on July 5-8.
'He's not going to be a very good host,' Cook said. 'He usually wins his own events, and I don't see him being a very gracious host at all.'
