Error Causes Extra PGA Championship Tickets

BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. -- PGA officials have blamed an error by its ticketing agency for thousands of duplicate tickets mailed out for next month's PGA Championship in suburban Detroit.
The Detroit News and Detroit Free Press reported Wednesday that the PGA's ticket fulfillment agency, Weldon, Williams & Lick, duplicated tickets for about 2,700 orders, sending purchasers double what they ordered for the championship at Oakland Hills Country Club in Bloomfield Township.
The PGA is contacting the ticket buyers and asking them to return the additional tickets. Those tickets will not be valid to enter the Aug. 7-10 tourney.
