Ford Motor Co. has agreed to be a presenting sponsor of the John Q. Hammons Hotel Classic for two years, tournament officials announced Tuesday.
The value of the sponsorship is in the range of half-a-million dollars, said Tim Erensen, vice president of Octagon, the sports marketing firm that runs the tournament.
The tournament, in its fourth year, moves this year from the Tulsa Country Club to Cedar Ridge Country Club in Broken Arrow, nearer to Hammons' Renaissance Tulsa Hotel.
The 54-hole tournament will be played Sept. 10-12.
The tournament's future appeared in doubt until Hammons agreed in September to sponsor the event for two years after former sponsor Williams Cos. withdrew amid financial troubles.
