Former No 1 Duval likely losing PGA Tour card


LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. (AP)—Former world No. 1 David Duval is likely to losehis PGA Tour card next year after missing the cut at the Children’s MiracleNetwork Classic.

Duval finished at 5-over par at Disney World on Friday in the final event ofthe season.

He entered the week at No. 125 on the money list, the last spot to earn fullstatus on tour. He is projected to finish outside that mark, but will haveconditional status because he is in the top 150, allowing him to enter about adozen tournaments.

Duval’s name recognition should help him land sponsor exemptions. And hisrunner-up finish at the U.S. Open and his 2001 British Open championship willget him into the first three majors next year.

He said he has already signed up for qualifying school.
