SEVILLE, Spain – Mark Foster of England has taken a three-shot lead after the third round of the Spanish Open in his bid to end a seven-year victory drought on the European Tour.
Foster had four birdies in difficult, breezy conditions for a third-round 69 Saturday that put him at 12-under 204.
Spaniards Carlos del Moral (70) and Alvaro Quiros (67) and Raphael Jacquelin (71) of France were three behind.
Foster has not won a European Tour title since the 2003 Dunhill Championship in South Africa. He started the third round a shot behind Johan Edfors of Sweden, who had a 76 to fall into a tie for 13th six strokes back.
