OCALA, Fla. – Mina Hardin shot a 3-under 69 on Sunday to share medallist honors in the U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur at Golden Hills Golf and Turf Club.
The 49-year-old Hardin, a reinstated amateur from Fort Worth, Texas, who was the first Mexican player on the LPGA, matched Laura Ladden of Coatesville, Pa.; Jennifer Lucas of Knoxville, Tenn.; and Meghan Stasi of Oakland Park, Fla., at 2-over 146.
Ladden shot a 71, and Lucas and Stasi had 73s.
Carol Semple Thomson, the 60-year-old star from Sewickley, Pa., shot an 80 to tie for 56th at 17 over. Thompson won the event in 1990 and 1997.
The top 64 qualified for match play in the tournament for players 25 and older.
