Park, the 2004 Kraft Nabisco champion who has seven top-10 finishes in her last 13 majors, said her doctors advised her not to play or practice for a minimum of three to four weeks. The Open begins June 29 at Newport Country Club.
'I knew something was not right, but that's certainly not what I wanted to hear from my doctors at this point in the season,' Park said Wednesday.
'I'm obviously sorry I have to miss the U.S. Open, but right now my top priority has to be getting fully healthy again.'
She hopes to return for the Evian Masters in France on July 26-29.
