Jakes Open Win Quite Suprising

ALOHA, Ore. -- Peter Jacobsen surprised a lot of people by winning the U.S. Senior Open -- including his own television production company.
Jacobsen almost withdrew from the U.S. Senior Open because of pain related to his hip surgery. Then, he had to walk 36 holes in the final round because of rain at Bellerive Country Club in St. Louis. He also had to make up a three-shot deficit over the final 12 holes to win his first Champions Tour major.
That meant some swift revisions to TV commercials promoting the JELD-WEN Tradition, the final Champions Tour major of the year. Peter Jacobsen Productions is managing the tournament, to be played Aug. 26-29 outside Portland.
In the old commercials, which were still airing in the state on Tuesday, Jacobsen says: 'I can't wait to tee it up in my home state of Oregon and win my first major championship.'
At least the company planned ahead. When filming the commercial in April, it asked Jacobsen to do a few takes in case he won a major before the JELD-WEN Tradition.
The company spent this week editing the commercials.
