The Champions Tour event will be played Aug. 15-17 on the course where Walter Hagen won the 1926 PGA Championship.
The Long Island Classic was originally scheduled for Sept. 26-28. That coincides with the Jewish holiday Rosh Hashanah. The tournament donates its proceeds to Schneider Children's Hospital.
``It wasn't a good date for a New York event,'' said Joan Marcello, marketing director for the Long Island Classic. ``We had been working with the tour to get a different date.
The Greater Hickory Classic in North Carolina moved from its original date, July 4-6, to Aug. 15-17. That leaves an open date between the U.S. Senior Open and Ford Senior Players Championship.
Officials already had been searching for a new course. The Long Island Classic had been held at Meadow Brook in Jericho, N.Y.
