Pavin Five Back in Vietnam

HANOI, Vietnam - Anthony Summers of Australia shot a 6-under 66 Thursday to lead the inaugural Vietnam Masters after the first round, with 1995 U.S. Open champion Corey Pavin five strokes behind.
Scott Barr is one shot behind in second place, followed by Jason Dawes and Thaworn Wiratchant, who both shot 68.
Pavin's 71 included 17 pars and a birdie on the fifth hole. His Vietnamese wife, Lisa, was his caddie.
Pavin said he needed to improve his putting.
'I just didn't make many putts. I hit a lot of good ones but that's how it goes sometimes,' he said. 'Conditions were perfect for scoring.'
