Port, Cohn reach USGA Senior Women's Am final

SAN MARTIN, Calif. – Defending champion Ellen Port and Susan Cohn each won two matches Wednesday at CordeValle to advance to the USGA Senior Women's Amateur final.

The 52-year-old Port, from St. Louis, beat Marilyn Hardy of Houston 6 and 4 in the morning quarterfinals and topped Mary Jane Hiestand of Naples, Fla., 4 and 3 in the semifinals.

The 50-year-old Cohn, from Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., edged Corey Weworski of Carlsbad, Calif., in 20 holes in the quarterfinals and beat Caryn Wilson of Rancho Mirage, Calif., 4 and 3 in the semifinals.

Port, the 2014 U.S. Curtis Cup captain, is seeking her sixth U.S. Golf Association title. She won the U.S. Women's Mid-Amateur four times.
