The vote was the final hurdle for the event to remain at Montreux through 2010.
The membership voted by a 73 percent majority, down from the 79.5 percent who voted in favor of a one-year extension last year.
'It kind of turned out how I thought,' RTO director Jim Kline said. 'About 4-to-1, I was very pleased with that, and obviously the majority of the members were pleased, too.'
The Reno-Tahoe Open, which completed its eighth year on Aug. 27, will remain the same week as the World Golf Championship-Bridgestone Invitational.
The RTO will be part of the FedEx race, although the points available, 12,500, will be half that of a regular tour stop. Both the RTO and WGC-Bridgestone will move up three weeks on the tour calendar and will usually be held the first week of August.
