Taylor Wins Canadian Amateur Championship

SASKATOON, Saskatchewan -- Nick Taylor won the Canadian Amateur on Friday, beating Michael Knight in 38 holes at Riverside Country Club.
The 19-year-old Taylor, from Abbotsford, British Columbia, became the second player to win the Canadian Junior and Amateur championships in consecutive years. Brent Franklin accomplished the feat in 1984-85.
'My game has improved, and this year everything was flowing, and I was just lucky to get through all the rounds,' Taylor said. 'It just feels good to pull it off.'
Both finalists earned spots in the Canadian Open next summer at Glen Abbey in Oakville, Ontario.
'It hurt to lose, but it was a good match, and he probably should have won. He putted way better than I did,' said Knight, from Calgary, Alberta. 'But playing in a PGA TOUR next year is going to be unreal.'
