Tiger Building First US Course in NC

TULSA, Okla. -- Tiger Woods began building his first golf course in Dubai, and his next stop likely is Carolina.
Woods said Tuesday that he would be at The Cliffs on the Tuesday after the PGA Championship, where he is expected to announce plans for his first U.S. golf course in the residential development east of Asheville, N.C.
An invitation to the news conference referred to the property as The Cliffs of High Carolina.
'I'll be there, yes,' Woods told reporters at Southern Hills, where he is preparing for the final major of the year.
When pressed for more details, he repeated only that he would be in Traveler's Rest, S.C.
The world's No. 1 player last year launched his own company, Tiger Woods Design, and he took on a project in Dubai for his first golf course. It is scheduled to be finished by September 2009. Woods has hired Beau Welling, formerly the top designer for Tom Fazio, to work on his Al Ruwaya course in Dubai.
