Vegas Resident Collects $2 Million Windfall

LAS VEGAS -- Scott Piercy, a Las Vegas-based mini-tour player who tied for 15th last year in the PGA TOUR's FBR Open, won $2 million on Friday in The Ultimate Game.
Piercy had rounds of 68 and 65 in the two-day finale at Wynn Las Vegas to finish at 7 under. Ken Jarner had two 68s to finish second at 4 under.
'I made some putts,' the 28-year-old Piercy said. 'I hit it good for two days. The putts finally fell the last seven or eight holes.'
The 43-year-old Jarner is a caddie at Wynn Las Vegas.
After two days of match play between 40 players who paid $50,000 each, the 10 players who won twice earned $100,000 each and advanced to the stroke-play finals. Two others advanced in an 18-hole playoff among the one-time winners in match play.
