Webb Commits to Ladies Masters


GOLD COAST, Australia -- Four-time champion Karrie Webb will play in the ANZ Ladies Masters golf tournament in February at Royal Pines, her 12th consecutive appearance in the joint Australian and European tour event.
The LPGA Tour has scheduled a tournament in Hawaii the same week as the Ladies Masters, raising concerns by Australian organizers that Webb might play there.
Karrie WebbWebb said shell start her 2005 season when she teams with Rachel Teske to represent Australia in the womens World Cup in South Africa two weeks before the Ladies Masters.
In her 11 appearances at Royal Pines, Webb has won four times, finished second four times and been outside the top 10 only once.
Also in the field in the Feb. 24-27 tournament are the English World Cup team of Laura Davies and Karen Stupples. Davies won the Masters in 1993, 94 and 2003 and Stupples, the current British Open champion, finished second to Annika Sorenstam this year.
