The Masters champ told the London (Ontario) Press that he selected childhood friend Alastair Mackay to prepare the traditional meal for the world's best golfers in Augusta, Ga.
Each year, the reigning champion chooses the chef for the meal that will be served April 7, two days before the tournament starts. Weir, Mackay and Augusta's executive chef are completing the menu.
'I tried to pick products identifiably Canadian,' Mackay told the newspaper. 'Maybe there will be some maple syrup. I'm trying to go coast to coast. It will be a casual affair lasting a maximum of two hours. We'll be using China from the 1940s.'
