Wilson Disqualified at Buick Invitational

2005 Buick InvitationalSAN DIEGO -- Dean Wilson went from a spot among the leaders to the weekend off at the Buick Invitational when he failed to sign his scorecard Saturday after completing the second round.
Wilson played his final six holes in 3 over for a 75, which would have left him tied for 16th at 6-under 138.
But he left the scoring trailer without signing his card.
'First time as a pro,' Wilson said as he cleaned out his locker.
It already has been a busy two weeks for Wilson. He was not given a sponsor's exemption at the Sony Open ' despite being the only PGA Tour player from Hawaii ' getting in as the fourth alternate. He finished 76th.
He got off to a good start at the Buick Invitational until his oversight Saturday morning. It was a costly mistake considering Wilson likely will get into only two more tournaments during the West Coast swing because of his low-ranking status coming out of Q-school.
Wilson, who won two majors on the Japanese tour, is best known for playing with Annika Sorenstam the first two rounds at the 2003 Colonial.
