Bremen High School's top golfer, Shawn McCormick, and the school's No. 2 golfer, Jarryd Anglin, each hit a hole-in-one with nine-irons on the No. 8 hole during the Marshall County golf meet at Maxinkukee Country Club.
Each golfer overshot by about 5 feet Saturday, and the ball rolled back toward the par-three, 150-yard hole.
The school's golf coach, Phil Kiefer, was waiting at the next hole to see how his top two golfers were faring. When he heard the news, he began screaming.
'The odds for that have to be fantastic,' Kiefer said. 'I've been playing 35 years, and I've never had a hole-in-one or been with anybody who had one.'
Kiefer said the first order of business after hearing the news -- and settling himself down -- was getting his two ace golfers to focus on the remaining nine holes.
'I didn't want them to get too high over getting a hole-in-one,' Kiefer said. 'It was hard to get them back on even keel.'
McCormick finished with a 72 and Anglin finished with a 74, the top two scores on the day. Bremen won the meet with a score of 311, nine strokes better than runner-up Glenn's 320.
