The notion that good putting is crucially important to lower scores isnt exactly groundbreaking, but that doesnt make it any less true. A new breed of putters has hit the market, and they are taking technology to the extreme. If your putting is costing you extra strokes, try the following offerings from some of the best brands in golf.
Cleveland Golf VP Milled Series
Cleveland Golfs new Visual Performance (VP) Milled putters feature a Dual Axis Alignment system, a fantastic visual aid which helps players get into the correct address position every time. This lets golfers determine when their hands have moved out of position and detect when their eyes are not directly over the ball, drastically cutting down on pushed and pulled putts. Pick from three unique offerings, including the VP1 a classic plumber's neck blade design with a 1 inch offset, the VP2, also a blade but with less offset and the mallet-style VP3.
This versatile series is loaded with a wide variety of putters to satisfy any golfers demands. Each is fitted with a two-piece insert in the face for outstanding feedback and a soft feel. Alignment-focused designs like the Craz-E, Craz-E and Moon are crafted to make lining up putts extra easy and also feature a high moment of inertia (MOI) for maximum forgiveness. Golfers loyal to a more traditional style can choose from proven PING favorites including the Anser and Zing models.
Heavy Putter Deep Face Series
Fans of previous versions of the Heavy Putter will be happy to hear that the new Deep Face Series still features the added weight system in the head and grip that make a consistent pendulum stroke so easy to repeat. New for 2008 are five distinct models, each with its own personality and a face inch taller than standard. This additional height raises the center of gravity so that it lines up with the sweet spot of the ball promoting greater accuracy and distance control. Boccieri Golf continues to defy convention and the results have been tremendous.
Guerin Rife Two-Bar Hybrid
Combining the performance benefits and looks of the award-winning Island Series Barbados with the highly-successful Two Bar putter is this gorgeous mallet from Guerin Rife. Two bars extending back from the center of the face help golfers frame the ball at address. In addition, players can adjust the weighting of the putter to suit specific conditions. As with every Rife model, the Hybrid is fitted with the companys patented RollGroove face which promotes an ideal ball path for greater consistency.
YES! Golf C-Groove Series
When a regular putter face impacts a ball it creates a loft which can cause skidding and side or back-spinning before it even begins rolling forward. The C-Groove solves this problem thanks to the concentric grooves on the face. Upon contact, the edges grip the ball surface, simultaneously lifting the ball out of its resting position and creating an ideal roll for straight putts with remarkable consistency. With 15 different sticks to choose from, the line provides golfers with nearly-limitless options.
