She Said

So, I finally decided to show up!

Getting picked to have a second chance on Big Break is a dream come true. I played solid on Big Break Prince Edward Island, and I assumed with all the experience I have, this Big Break was somehow going to be a little bit easier. Wrong! That mentality had to change really quickly. This is nothing like Big Break PEI, and you never know what to expect on this show.

The first couple of episodes I was downright nervous. In episode one, I felt like I was just going through the motions with little control. During the second show, I was slowly regaining focus and reminding myself that every single shot must be treated with 100% focus. This week’s show, I finally showed up! Being called out by Blake and Andrew to play in the benching challenge was absolutely the best thing that could have happened to me. At this point, I felt that with every shot I hit I was slowly but surely getting more settled, and my confidence was on the rise. It was exciting be put on the spot when the stakes are high. Plus, I lost my match on the first show. I thought it was kind of crazy for them to pick me to play that hole again. Maybe they thought that was to their advantage being that I struggled on it previously. But let’s be honest, I may have messed up on that hole once, but you’ve got to be crazy if you think I’m going to let it happen twice. I saw it as a challenge and an opportunity for redemption.  That’s what this show is all about!

Getting up and down for par on my first hole and winning against Blake was huge. Squaring up the match with two holes to go was really important for our momentum. We played the last hole perfectly, and when I made that putt to win the challenge, it was an absolutely amazing feeling! Lori and I made a great team and were very supportive of one another. We understand each other’s games, and thus far, we have done the unthinkable. Coming from behind in a Benching Challenge, winning and sitting two of the boys on the bench for next week, Sweet Success! Not to mention, we are now five grand richer!
