The approach to the runway in Las Vegas resembles little of what lies ahead on the Red Rock Trail to the Moon, other than the fact that theyre both in the desert. As the wheels of the plane touch down on the tarmac you may be recalling the dream you were having back home. Places west like Mesquite, Nev., Page, Ariz., and St. George, Utah. You dream of playing golf and fly fishing, and of taking in the desert sights with a camera at your side. Professional golfers, fishing guides and master photographers are with you showing you the best kept secrets about each place and how to do it right. You have signed on for an adventure excursion with Three Trails West.

Three Trails West has a new a twist on golf dream vacations, adding side trips for fishing and photography. Company founder Bob Castellino explains, Golf is at the core of our adventures. But there are additional activities provided so you can get more out of your trip than just a scorecard. We like to learn about places playing trail trivia, hold trail talks each evening, take short side trips to see the sites and practice some photography, or go fishing mid-trip to rest that golf swing for a half day. Thats all part of what makes this friendly company different.

Before a trail is planned, the team at Three Trails West plays each golf course, fishes the rivers, and explores each photographic location to assure the itinerary fits the flow as designed. The same is true for lodging, food, side trip excursions and ground transportation. The team is handpicked, and every one of the guides can work with the least to the most advanced players at each stop along the way. When you sign on with Three Trails West you are matched with people of your ability and interests whether you are playing a round of golf for fun or competition, casting for the big ones, or on a quest for the ultimate photograph.

The Red Rock to the Moon Trail is one such adventure this spring, so mark your calendar for April 18-26 and join us. The first three days youll find yourself in Mesquite, Nevada playing the Oasis Canyons, world renowned Wolf Creek, and the exciting track at Falcon Ridge. Youll stay at the Eureka Casino where youre treated with a range of activities and educational sessions on golf, fishing and photography. Sessions are planned before and after our golf outings. Some may choose to rise to attend morning fitness and stretching or meditation sessions to improve their mental game, while others take it easy on their own. Of course, youre not required to attend any activity on the trail, but we encourage you to get out and take it all in with our professional guides. The pace of the trip is set this way throughout the week so you can get as much or as little down time as you like!

Mid-trip youll arrive at Lake Powell International Golf Club for a mid-day round, then its out to the Canyon Princess for a cruise and sunset dinner on Lake Powell. The next morning make your choice between fly fishing on the Colorado River in Glen Canyon or a photographic excursion to Antelope Canyon on the Navajo Reservation south of Page, Ariz. Late afternoon, its a short shuttle to Zion National Park for an evening hike, dinner and down time at the Comfort Inn on the Virgin River, huddled beneath the massive sandstone feature called The Tower of the Watchman. The next morning the adventurous are summoned to a sunrise photo shoot at the Tower of the Virgin and then onto The Court of the Patriarch in Zion Valley. After returning for breakfast, you head to Coral Canyon for our next round of golf in St. George, Utah and our stay at the famous Red Mountain Spa at Snow Canyon just beneath the massive Red Mountain.

The incomparable Red Mountain Spa is the perfect place to finish the Red Rock to the Moon Trail. The setting at Red Mountain Spa makes it the finest on the trail with easy access for walks and early morning and evening photographic excursions into Snow Canyon. Coral Canyon, The Ledges and Sand Hollow are premier desert golf course designs set in one of the more beautiful locations of southwestern Utah. All have been ranked at the top of Golf Digests must-play best new courses in the state. Each in their own right, Coral Canyon, Ledges and Sand Hollow defines the golf experience on the Red Rock Trail in Saint George.

This last stop marks the end of a great adventure of Three Trails West's Red Rock to the Moon Trail. Guests get their fill of golfing, fishing, photography and more along the way. Epic? Perhaps not. Memorable in the log of any adventure hound? Thats a resounding yes!
