Canadian Rookie Fires Course Record To Qualify For GGCC

Rookie Canadian Tour member Brad Fritsch of Manotick, Ont., shot a course record 7-under 65 Monday to qualify for this week's Greater Greensboro Chrysler Classic.
Fritsch carded one eagle, seven birdies, two bogeys and eight pars at Stoneycreek Golf and Country Club to earn a spot into the $3.5 million event. He will join fellow Canadians Glen Hnatiuk, David Morland IV and Ian Leggatt at Forest Oaks Country Club beginning Thursday.
'This is my first course record,' Fritsch told the Ottawa Citizen. 'This gives me a lot of confidence. This is huge.
'I went in with no real expectations. There were 169 guys for four spots. In essence, it's a real craps shoot.'
Fritsch earned his Canadian Tour card last fall at Royal Ashburn near Toronto. He made one cut during the Tour's swing through Myrtle Beach last February and March.
