This fall saw the release from Adidas Golf of its latest outerwear offering, in the form of a two-layer rain suit made with Gore-Tex, the high performance material designed to breathe and allow perspiration vapor to escape as it also ensures that golfers stay dry in inclement conditions and protects them from wind.
Company technicians say that maintaining flexibility and providing a wide range of motion are other performance attributes of this product, which members of its tour staff started using in competition at last summer’s Open Championship.
In addition to being fully seamed-sealed, they say, the jackets, which are available in five colorways, also feature a double center-front storm flap with a zipper and Velcro enclosure; a double cinch at the waist and hem; and Velcro adjustable cuffs for a customized fit. A two-layer rain pant comes as a complement to the jackets, but in black only.
“With our new Adidas Gore-Tex outerwear collection, we can keep golf athletes focused on their performance rather than on the harshest of elements,” says Davide Mattucci, director of global apparel product marketing for the equipment maker.
“By integrating truly durable waterproof fabrics into a stylish, fully-functional rain suit, golfers are guaranteed to stay warm and dry and be able to swing freely without distraction.”
