Ping to sell Bubba's pink driver

After his win at the Masters, a lot of fans wanted to learn to play 'Bubba golf.' Clubmaker Ping responded Tuesday by allowing fans to at least purchase some of Bubba Watson's unique equipment.

On June 1, the company will sell 5,000 limited-edition pink G20 drivers – similar to what Watson has been using this season. The drivers will retail for $430. (You can pre-order the driver from Golf Galaxy by clicking on this link.)

The drivers will have a bright pink shaft and clubhead, and are offered in 9.5-, 10.5-, and 12-degrees of lofts for right-handed players. Left-handed players will have a 10.5-degree option. It is available in R, S, and L flexes. Women will be able to purchase a version with 12 degrees of loft.

All come with a matching pink headcover and a shaft labeled, “Bubba Long in Pink. Driven by Ping. Limited Edition 2012.”

The decision to sell the drivers came in the wake of the response to Watson's sudden-death playoff win over Louis Oosthuizen at Augusta National.

“Even prior to his win at (t)he Masters, golfers were requesting pink G20s.Through word of mouth, social media, and phone calls, the interest was extremely high,' said Ping CEO John Solheim in a release.

The sale of the drivers will benefit Watson's 'Bubba & Friends Drive to a Million' charity effort this season. Watson seeks to raise $1 million for cancer research.

Ping has already committed up to $100,000 to the effort – $10,000 up front and another $300 for the first 300 drives of 300 yards or more this season. From the driver sales, 5 percent of the proceeds will help Watson's goal.
