Stricker sticking with Odyssey White Hot putter

Even after one of the worst putting years of his career, Steve Stricker isn’t ready to ditch his trusty Odyssey White Hot No. 2 putter just yet.
Annually one of the PGA Tour’s best putters, he finished 67th in the Tour’s strokes gained-putting statistic in 2012 – a stark contrast to a year ago, when he was second. It was his worst showing since the Tour began tracking the statistic in 2004.
That prompted the 45-year-old to dabble with a new Odyssey Sabertooth mallet putter at the World Challenge and the first round of the Shark Shootout. The results weren’t impressive enough for Stricker to consider making a full-time switch, though.
“No, it won’t be in my bag,” he said Tuesday when asked if he would use the mallet putter during his title defense next month at the season-opening Hyundai Tournament of Champions. “(At the Shark Shootout), I’m like, I’m hitting some good putts, and they are just not going in. And then I went back to my other one and started filling it up. Yeah, it’ll be my old gamer back in play.”
