Tour Edge fairway woods for 'real-world players'

Tour Edge Golf has introduced the Exotics XJ1 line of fairway woods, which the company says benefit "real-world players with real-world swing speeds."

The clubhead combines "a new ultra-lightweight 9-1-1 titanium body and a heavy tungsten sole." The sole weighs 124 grams, which is two-thirds of the entire mass of the clubhead, and generates high launch angles, the company says.

In addition, there is a 12-gram tungsten screw in the heel positioned for draw enhancement and faster release of the clubhead through impact. Additional weights - 10, 14 and 16 grams - are available in a kit. The shaft is a 45-gram Fujikura Air Speeder.

Projected shipping date is Nov. 15. The XJ1 fairway wood is available in 3-wood (15 degree), 4-wood (17 degree), 5-wood (18 degree), and 7-wood (21 degree), right hand only. Suggested retail price is $449.99.
