Expert Picks: Zurich Classic

This week the PGA Tour heads to Louisiana for the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, where birdies should fly early and often. Each week, a panel of experts will offer up their picks from four groups of players based on Golf Channel's new fantasy game, Fantasy Challenge. We will also keep track of their scores and standings. The panel includes: senior writers Rex Hoggard, Randall Mell and Jason Sobel; contributors John Hawkins and Win McMurry; editorial director Jay Coffin; 'Morning Drive' host Gary Williams and staff writer Ryan Lavner. They will also be joined by former 'Saturday Night Live' star Norm Macdonald, who will serve as a celebrity guest throughout the fantasy season.

Rex Hoggard

Group 1: Justin Rose: The Englishman has quietly put together one of 2013's most consistent scorecards, having finished inside the top 25 in all six of his starts this season, including a runner-up showing last month at Bay Hill.

Group 2: Scott Piercy: Bubba Watson proved two years ago that a bomber could overpower TPC Louisiana, and Piercy qualifies as a bomber. He ranks second on the PGA Tour in driving distance (all drives) with a 296-yard average, and finished tied for 13th last year in New Orleans.

Group 3: Kyle Stanley: The third-year Tour player continues to look for some consistency, but he has the power to make TPC Louisiana his bounce-back start.

Group 4: Chez Reavie: Struggled in Sunday's winds at Harbour Town (77), but he has been trending in the right direction in recent weeks and has plenty of experience in New Orleans.

Jason Sobel

Group 1: Justin Rose: He's finished in the top 25 in all five PGA Tour starts this season and could be the next elite player in line to claim a victory.

Group 2: Graham DeLaet: I've been touting his talents since before the season started and no better place for him than site of a T-4 finish a year ago.

Group 3: Brendan Steele: Over the past three seasons, Steele has a very dangerous record on TPC courses. Watch out, TPC Louisiana.

Group 4: John Peterson: A full-time member, Peterson has nothing to lose this week - always a dangerous proposition.
