This week marks the 13th event of the 2014-15 PGA Tour season, as the Tour remains in California for the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am. Each week, a panel of experts will offer up their picks from four groups of players, based on Golf Channel's fantasy game, Fantasy Challenge. We will also keep track of their scores and standings. The panel includes: senior writers Rex Hoggard, Randall Mell and Jason Sobel; editorial director Jay Coffin; associate editor Will Gray; 'Morning Drive' host Gary Williams; host Charlie Rymer and defending fantasy champion Ryan Lavner.
Group 1: Jimmy Walker: One week after a defending champion went T-2 at Torrey, this 2014 winner could one-up him this week at Pebble.
Group 2: Shane Lowry: Big things are coming for Lowry. A deft touch around the greens and familiarity with the poor conditions should serve him well.
Group 3: Colt Knost: Not only has he finished 17th or better in his last three starts, Knost owns the right temperament to enjoy and play well in a pro-am.
Group 4: D.A. Points: Speaking of which, anyone who can actually win a tournament with Bill Murray on the other side of the tee box has the right personality for this event.
Group 1: Jimmy Walker: He already successfully defended a title earlier this year at the Sony Open, a rout that was sandwiched between a playoff loss in Maui and a T-7 finish at Torrey Pines.
Group 2: Hunter Mahan: Mahan's wife gave birth to the couple's second child last week, and now he returns to action at a course where he has finished 16th or better each of the last four years.
Group 3: Daniel Berger: The rookie contended in Phoenix. then followed it up with a solid T-24 finish last week at Torrey Pines. He has three top-25 finishes in four starts in 2015.
Group 4: Mark Hubbard: Hubbard has made seven of eight cuts this year, including a top-20 finish at the Humana Challenge, and went to school at nearby San Jose State.
