Rex Hoggard

Rex Hoggard (10,294,955; 3rd)

Group A: Luke Donald: Runner-up at East Lake last year and fresh off top-5 finishes in Chicago and Boston.

Group B: Webb Simpson: Forget that this week is the rookie’s first start at East Lake. Since early August he’s finished first, T-10, first and fifth. See the trend?

Group C: Gary Woodland: Needs a big week if he’s going to draw the attention of Presidents Cup captain Fred Couples.

Randall Mell

Randall Mell (9,219,243; 8th)

Group A: ???: ???.

Group B: ???: ???

Group C: ???: ???

Charlie Rymer

Charlie Rymer (9,571,508; 5th)

Group A: Luke Donald: Was in the mix last year and this year he brings home all the bacon.

Group B: David Toms: Atlanta has been kind to Toms and he should feel very comfortable on the Bermuda greens.

Group C: Mark Wilson: Played great early last week. A win at East Lake would bookend the best year of his career.

John Hawkins

John Hawkins (8,879,178; 9th)

Group A: Luke Donald: A win gets him in the Player of the Year picture and a whole bunch more.

Group B: Webb Simpson: The best and hottest player from this group.

Group C: John Senden: My wife likes him and that is good enough for me this week.

Jay Coffin

Jay Coffin (13,394,707; 2nd)

Group A: Luke Donald: He's been the most consistent player this year and there is no reason to believe it won't continue.

Group B: Webb Simpson: He's been the best player in recent months and there is no reason to believe it won't continue.

Group C: Bo Van Pelt: Let's be hones: this is BVP's tournament to lose.

Gary Williams

Gary Williams (9,480,686; 6th)

Group A: Luke Donald: How can you not pick the No. 1 player in the world?

Group B: Webb Simpson: Don't see his great form trailing off this week.

Group C: Charles Howell III: May be the happiest person in the field this week as he made his way back to East Lake and also the Masters in 2012.

Erik Kuselias

Erik Kuselias (???; ??)

Group A: Luke Donald: He controls his own destiny this week and could cap off a stellar season with a win.

Group B: Webb Simpson: FedEx Cup leader needs one more great week to claim the big prize.

Group C: Bill Haas: Needs to great finish to convince U.S. captain Fred Couples to take him as a Presidents Cup wildcard.

Win McMurry

 Win McMurry (15,129,310; 1st)

 Group A: ???: ???.

Group B: ???: ???

Group C: ???: ???

Ryan Ballengee

Ryan Ballengee (???; ???)

Group A: Luke Donald: Was second here a year ago. Told me he needs to get his driver straightened out, but that shouldn't be a problem.

Group B: Geoff Ogilvy: He's a streaky player and is coming off a good performance in Chicago.

Group C: Vijay Singh: Didn't play well last week, but Cog Hill doesn't fit his eye. East Lake, however, does.

Rob Bolton

Rob Bolton (10,207,932; 4th)

Group A: Luke Donald: Last year’s runner-up leads the PGA Tour in adjusted scoring and bogey avoidance.

Group B: Webb Simpson: Tour leader in the all-around ranking for the last three months; finished fifth at the BMW, his fourth straight top-10.

Group C: Chez Reavie: Investing in a calculated flier in our final event. Top-10s in three of last four starts. A ball-striker’s ball-striker.
