Strom returned to the course this morning to complete six holes. She holds a one-shot lead over Allie Blomquist of Afton, Minn., and non-exempt LPGA Tour members Stacy Prammanasudh of Enid, Okla., and Michele Vinieratos of Altamonte Springs, Fla.
Strom, who shot a first-round 71 (-1), recorded two bogeys and five birdies, including three consecutive ones on 16, 17, and 18. Strom moved from tied for fourth the previous day to her leading position.
Blomquist ended last night with birdies on four, five, and 10, to take the lead at 4-under-par with seven holes left to play. Returning this morning, Blomquist bogeyed 12, double-bogeyed 14, but birdied 16 and 18 to finish with a 70 (-2) for a 141 (-3).
Vinieratos was tied for the lead after the first round with a 2-under-par 70. She finished 11 holes yesterday, recording one birdie and two bogeys. She returned this morning and picked up birdies on 13 and 15 and is one shot behind Strom with 141 (-3).
Prammanasudh was trailing by two strokes and tied for 12th after the first round with a 72 (E). Her 69 (-3) performance included five birdies and two bogeys. Prammanasudh had to complete five holes this morning.
