Tiger Goes Fourth Straight Memorial Title

Tiger Woods is coming back to the U.S. just in time for the Memorial Tournament. He raced over to Europe for one tournament ' the Deutsche Bank Open ' won it, then scurried back to Ohio to resume his American tour schedule.
The Memorial Tournament is Jack Nicklaus creation, and Tiger has said his thanks by winning three in a row. Bay Hill is Arnold Palmers gift to the tour and Tiger has also won three in a row there. He will go for four at Nicklaus layout this week.
Woods conquered the par-5s at Muirfield Village in 14-under for the week, and he was only 17-under total for the week. That 17-under was good for a seven-stroke win over Sergio Garcia and Paul Azinger on the rain-soaked ' isnt that always the case here? ' fairways of Muirfield.
A 66 was sufficient for Woods to overcome a one-stroke lead by Azinger starting the final round. He wiped out the deficit in one three-hole stretch on the front side, turning the one-stroke disadvantage into a four-stroke advantage. He actually won the tournament on the fifth hole, where he ripped a 2-iron 250 yards to six feet, then poured in the putt. Azinger, one ahead when the hole began, looped a 3-wood into the creek at the same hole. It was all over after that.
I dont know all the history, but since Ive been playing sports, Ive never found anybody who has dominated more, said Nicklaus, himself quite a dominator in the generation just passed.
What amazes me is that, week after week, hes prepared. Theres never a slack. Thats pretty special when you can do that.
Azinger was embarrassed that he didnt put up a better match. I even apologized to him, because at the point, he almost looks bored, he said.
The event will draw most of the top golfers from the U.S. Tour, though Europes best will be at home playing the PGA Volvo Championship.
