Ten of the top 15 players in the world are scheduled to tee it up at the Hero World Challenge in December, it was announced Tuesday.
Tournament host Tiger Woods is expected to return to competition Dec. 4-7 at Isleworth Country Club, where he’ll headline an 18-man field that will vie for the $1 million first-place prize and world-ranking points.
Henrik Stenson, Jim Furyk, Justin Rose, Bubba Watson, Jason Day, Matt Kuchar and Rickie Fowler – Nos. 4-10, respectively, in the Official World Ranking – are expected to play, followed by No. 13 Jordan Spieth and No. 14 Billy Horschel, the defending FedEx Cup champion.
Defending champion Zach Johnson, Graeme McDowell, Jimmy Walker, Hideki Matsuyama, Hunter Mahan, Chris Kirk, Steve Stricker and Keegan Bradley round out the field. The latter two are the tournament’s special exemptions.
“We are thrilled about the depth and talent of our field,” Woods said in a release, “and I’m looking forward to another exciting year of competition at Isleworth, a course I love.”
