The race to make the 2016 European Ryder Cup team will conclude next year in Denmark.

The European Tour announced Friday that the Made in Denmark, held Aug. 25-28, 2016, will be the final event of the qualifying window for the biennial event. Once the tournament concludes, nine players will clinch spots on the European team: four from the European points list based on Race to Dubai points, and five from the world points list based on the OWGR.

European captain Darren Clarke will then fill out the roster with three captain's picks during the week of Aug. 29, meaning the European team will be finalized before their American counterparts.

Thanks in part to Billy Horschel's late run to the FedEx Cup last fall, the U.S. Ryder Cup task force opted to change the procedure for American captain's picks. While the top eight players will earn automatic spots after The Barclays on Aug. 28, 2016, captain Davis Love III will not make his first three picks until after the BMW Championship concludes on Sept. 11.

Love will then make one final captain's pick following the Tour Championship, which concludes Sept. 25.

The Ryder Cup will be held Sept. 30-Oct. 2 at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska, Minn.
