Jackie Stoelting got the better of Sadena Parks during their season together on Big Break Florida, but Parks exacted some revenge Sunday with a playoff win over Stoelting on the Symetra Tour.
Stoelting, the winner of Big Break Florida, set the bar with a 6-under 66 in the final round of the New England Charity Classic in Goffstown, N.H. Parks tied her with an 8-foot birdie on the 18th hole, her fifth birdie of the back nine, to finish off a 5-under 67 and force a playoff.
Both players birdied the first extra hole, then Parks won on the second hole after Stoelting was unable to convert her par putt. She now has two Symetra Tour wins this season, having claimed the SEFCU Championship two weeks ago.
"It's very exciting, I knew I had one more win under my belt," Parks said. "Playing against Jackie was really, really hard, but we both put in a good fight and I can't wait to see her on the LPGA Tour with me next year."
Parks moves to third on the Symetra money list with the win, and has all but assured her spot in the top 10 and an LPGA card for the 2015 season.
"Ever since I was nine years old, the LPGA Tour was my goal," said Parks, who qualified for the U.S. Women's Open earlier this summer. "It has been a long journey, and now I am almost there."
With her runner-up finish, Stoelting moved to sixth on the season-long money list with four events remaining.
