Chalmers hits fan, hits green, nearly hits flag

Call it the luck of the Aussies?

One day after Scott Gardiner took advantage of the contours of the 11th green to make a hole-in-one, Greg Chalmers took advantage of the countours of a fan sitting beside the 11th green to nearly make an ace of his own.

Chalmers pushed his tee shot on the par-3 well left of the green, but got a little bit of help from the gallery:

As you might imagine, he would go on to tap in for birdie.

Chalmers, who was born in Sydney, holds a one-shot lead over four players, one of whom is Rory McIlroy, thanks to his second-round 66 - and thanks to whoever directed his ball towards the hole at 11.
