NAPLEs, Fla. – In Gee Chun and Lydia Ko are locked in a fierce competition for the LPGA’s Vare Trophy for low scoring average.
They will be paired together Sunday at the CME Group Tour Championship.
Ko leads Chun by .006 points in scoring average.
“It’s a good challenge for me,” Chun said. “I know Lydia’s a really good player, and a great person. I always enjoy a challenge, because without a challenge, it feels boring.”
Ko has a 69.571 scoring average, Chun a 69.577 average.
It’s so close, if Chun beats Ko by one shot Sunday and posts a score of 70 or lower, Chun will win the Vare Trophy. If Chun beats Ko by one shot but posts a score above 70, Ko will win the Vare Trophy.
