Paula Creamer withdrew from the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship Friday citing a thumb injury.
Though it is the same left thumb Creamer had surgically repaired in the spring of 2010, the injury is unrelated.
"It is a blister that simply won't go away," Jay Burton, Creamer's manager, told GolfChannel.com.
Creamer played with the blister at the U.S. Women's Open last week, but it has become infected, Burton said. Creamer played with it worsening Thursday in the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship pro-am before stopping after 12 holes.
