NASSAU, Bahamas – On Tuesday, Dustin Johnson did what one does in paradise – explore the crystal clear waters of the Caribbean.
But it turns out even the most idyllic moments come with dangers.
Johnson sliced the heel on his right foot while removing his swimming fins, an injury that forced him to withdraw from Wednesday’s pro-am at the Hero World Challenge after nine holes.
Because of the location of the injury, doctors couldn’t give Johnson stitches, but they were able to glue the cut together.
The injury didn’t seem to bother Johnson on Thursday at Albany, where he opened with a 4-under 68 and was in ninth place at the 18-man event.
“It’s alright,” he said.
