On this date in 1933: Augusta National formally opens


On this day 83 years ago, January 13, 1933, Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Ga., officially opened its doors.

Since then, it has grown into one of the most prestigious golf clubs in the world and come April it will once again be home to the grandest stage in American golf, the Masters Tournament.
