Defending champ Henley (sick) WDs from pro-am

HONOLULU – Last year, Russell Henley was a surprise Sony Open champion, parlaying a masterful putting performance into a victory in his first start as a PGA Tour member.

This week hasn’t started out nearly as well.

Henley was forced to withdraw from Wednesday’s pro-am after 12 holes due to an unspecified illness. He remains in the field for the tournament, which begins Thursday.

He finished in 27th place at last week’s Hyundai Tournament of Champions.
