Dual-tour Durant opens with 65

WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W. Va. – Two weeks ago, Joe Durant was in contention at the PGA Tour’s Travelers Championship entering the weekend, then finished in a share of 31st place. Last week, he played the Constellation Senior Players Championship on the Champions Tour and finished T-6.

And this week, he’s back on the PGA Tour circuit and again playing well, opening with a 5-under 65 at The Greenbrier Classic.

“Good golf anywhere is good golf,” said Durant, who turned 50 in April. “I’ve been playing good over there and I’ve had some good rounds over here, too. I just haven’t put four together. Maybe I can do it this week.”

In 11 starts on the PGA Tour, Durant has made just four cuts and that T-31 is his best result. In five Champions Tour starts, though, he already owns four top 10s.
