Jason Dufner will be sporting a new bag patch for the Open Championship next week, one that honors a former Auburn football player who died last month.
A staunch supporter of his alma mater, Dufner tweeted a picture of the newest add-on for his bag, which includes the number 43 in Auburn colors as a nod to Philip Lutzenkirchen:

Lutzenkirchen wore No. 43 while playing tight end for the Tigers from 2009-2012 and was an integral part of Auburn's national championship-winning team in 2010. He died June 29 in a single-car accident in Georgia at the age of 23.
Following the accident, Dufner tweeted a picture of he and Lutzenkirchen took together at a recent charity event:
Next week will mark Dufner's fifth appearance in the Open Championship. He last played at the Quicken Loans National, where he missed the cut.
