Jason Dufner will make his return to competitive golf next month – and he won’t be easing into it gradually, according to a source close to Dufner.
Dufner, who hasn’t played since withdrawing from the PGA Championship with a neck injury, will next compete in the Perth International, scheduled for Oct. 23-26.
That is the start of a four-week stretch which also will include the CIMB Classic, WGC-HSBC Champions and Chiangmai Golf Classic.
That schedule alone should be reason for optimism for a player who didn’t sound very hopeful after leaving Valhalla early with two bulging discs in his neck.
“I’m not worried about the immediate future,” he said at the time. “I’m worried about getting healthy. I’m not really concerned about when I play again, to be honest with you.”
