This week marks the 1st major of 2014 for the LPGA, as players head to Rancho Mirage for the Kraft Nabisco Championship, where a full field will look to be the next player to jump victoriously into Poppie's Pond. Each week, a panel of experts will offer up their picks from four groups of players, based on Golf Channel's fantasy game, Fantasy Challenge. We will also keep track of their scores and standings. The panel includes: senior writers Rex Hoggard, Randall Mell and Jason Sobel; contributors John Hawkins and John Antonini; editorial director Jay Coffin; 'Morning Drive' host Gary Williams; staff writer Ryan Lavner and defending fantasy champion Charlie Rymer.
Group 2: Cristie Kerr: The veteran has been solid in her last two starts (fifth, T-10), and has two top-10 finishes at the Kraft Nabisco in her last five starts.
Group 3: Yani Tseng: The former world No. 1 has not been at her best in some time, but she already has one Kraft Nabisco title on the shelf (2010) and experience is the key at the year's first major.
Group 4: Mi Hyang Lee: Solid last week at the Kia Classic (T-25) and despite a lack of experience at the Kraft, she could be a surprise contender.
Group 1: Karrie Webb: It seems like every week Webb's name is hardly mentioned - until she goes out and wins on Sunday.
Group 2: Anna Nordqvist: An off-season equipment change has done her well, to the tune of two wins so far.
Group 3: Yani Tseng: I know she's struggled the past two years, but Yani in Group 3 should be considered a steal.
Group 4: Vicky Hurst: Still waiting for her to mature into a top player. Thought it would have happened by now.
Group 1: Paula Creamer: She has never had a top-10 finish at the Kraft Nabisco, but she's never missed the cut either. Her game is in a good place after breaking her long victory drought, and she's happy off the course as well with her engagement to Air Force reserve pilot Derek Heath.
Group 2: Anna Nordqvist: The winner of the Kia Classic has three top-10s in five starts at the Kraft Nabisco.
Group 3: Eun Hee Ji: She's having a solid year, as her 24th spot on the LPGA money list attests. Both of her Tour wins are majors: The 2008 LPGA Championship and the 2009 U.S. Women's Open.
Group 4: Mirim Lee: Probably a steal at this spot. She's 64th on the Rolex Rankings and made four cuts in four LPGA starts this year. She's never played the KNC.
