Fog delays start to Farmers Insurance Open

SAN DIEGO – A year later, fog is still causing problems at the Farmers Insurance Open.

The first round at Torrey Pines was delayed 30 minutes Thursday after a heavy fog blanketed the municipal course along the Pacific Bluffs.

Last year, they were unable to start the third round on Saturday after the marine layer rolled in and never left, forcing a Monday finish.

Defending champion Tiger Woods is scheduled to tee off now at 11:10 p.m. local time.

This is the fourth of 10 events to be suspended by weather.
