Garcia falls victim to Streelman's back-nine 28

CROMWELL, Conn. – Sergio Garcia is no stranger to bad luck. On Sunday, it came in the form of Kevin Streelman.

A final-round 67 left Garcia one stroke shy of the Travelers Championship winner, who posted a back-nine 28 that included seven birdies.

“Obviously he played amazing on the back nine,” Garcia said. “We were also trying, but I wasn't able to do it. But I think that, you know, at the end of the day he played really, really well. I feel like I played quite nicely and it just wasn't my time.”

Though he hasn’t won on the PGA Tour in nearly two full years, Garcia owns two European Tour victories this season and now has three top-three finishes on the U.S.-based circuit.

“I think it was a great week, very solid week. Tied for second. There's not many bad things that come out of that.”
